A Beautiful Sound

"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God." Psalm 40:3a“What kind of music do you listen to?” An easy entrance into many conversations, a connecting point. I’ve found myself asking that question many times in my attempts to get to know someone better and their interests. Music is an amazing thing. Often a common ground, music is something that affects all of our lives one way or another. Music moves my soul. I love listening to the beautiful sound for hours on end.I attended a Christian concert recently, and the opener said something that really resonated with me. She stood before the crowd of thousands and said, “I love Christian music.” She went on to explain the impact that Christian music has had on her life and how it has influenced her own songs. Now, I’m not a songwriter, nor am I a singer, but I whole-heartedly agree with her statement. I love Christian music. It has had a tremendous impact on my own life. Some of the songs I sang to Jesus as a child continue to impact my faith today as an adult. The words stick with me. The music inspires me. The songs draw me into the presence of the Lord. I love Christian music. Music that displays the glory of God and reflects His nature is a beautiful sound. It brings delight to the heart of God. What kind of music do you listen to?I want to share with you some of my personal favorites, some Christian artists that I love to worship to. If you haven’t already, check them out on iTunes or Spotify. I hope that through this short list of some of my “most listened to”, you will find some for yourself, music that will cause you to meet with the Lord in worship. Please, feel free to share some of your own as well. I’m always looking for more music to add to my times of worship!Lindsay McCaul – If It Leads Me BackBrooke Fraser – AlbertineMeredith Andrews – As Long As It TakesAudrey Assad – The House You're BuildingKari Jobe – Kari JobeNew Life Worship – Counting On GodShane & Shane – The One You NeedPhil Wickham – Response
