Maker of the Wind

Today, I want to introduce you to my friend, Ginny. She wrote today's post, and I'm thrilled to share it with you all. She loves the Lord and loves to worship Him. The below words are hers. Enjoy!How many of you love to escape into your music when you work out? There is absolutely no way my body will work for me unless I feed it some encouraging, upbeat music. I love to worship and work out at the same time! I love how I can occupy my mind with thoughts, praises, and prayers to the Lord as I wind my legs in circles on the recumbent bike. I can strengthen my mind and body at the same time and feel all the better for it as I proceed through my day. Last week, as I rode, I came upon a song that made me realize that often I forget how much power I have on my side. We who know the Lord, who put our hope and trust and faith in Him, often forget to bring every struggle, trial, and challenge to Him. We forgot to ask Him to empower us, to help us face that struggle, to give us joy in the midst of our trials. Some of us may even be faithful prayer warriors, starting out the day with a cup of coffee in one hand and our fears and needs offered up the Lord with the other…but even prayer warriors tend to grab those offerings back from Him on the way out of the throne room. And if you are not in the habit of regularly praying and asking the Lord for His power to work in your life, then you are even more likely to spend much of your time worrying and feeling alone in your struggles. But wow, ladies, when you listen to this song, you will almost want to laugh at yourself for forgetting who you know, whose very power is available to you for the asking. This song absolutely trumpets the truth and power of the One you know – "The Maker of the Wind!" Our Lord, He knows everything, He sees everything, and He has told us that we are His and He is ours. Yet we still choose to go through life fearful, feeling alone and scared in our challenges, wondering what is going to happen to us, how are things going to turn out. Who in the world could possibly know, right? Oh wait, I know Him. I just met Him this morning and I asked Him to be with me, said I would trust in Him and left my needs at His feet. Oh wait, what’s this in my purse? My fears and struggles? How did those get in there? I must have picked them back up as I ran out the door, late to getthe kids to school. It happens! They say “The way you know a living sacrifice is that it is constantly crawling off the altar”. But this song really helps me to remember who God is and the power He wields. Read the lyrics, listen to the song, and I think you cannot help butagree. It is powerful and it is totally based on God’s word so you can sing along at the top of your lungs, proclaiming truth and life! (Psalm 135:7) He is the Overcomer: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) There is no one to fear and the Lord will never leave us: The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1) Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)  He is the One who holds our hope: But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. (Psalm 9:18) No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, (Psalm 25:3a) Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God. (Psalm 42:5) May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you (Psalm 33:22) We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. (Psalm 33:20) Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. ( Psalm 31:24) He is forgiver of our sins: Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.( Psalm 79:9); who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, (Psalm 103:3) Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance?
